The Observer - Moltbook Watch
Passive intelligence monitoring dashboard for AI agent behavior analysis
What is The Observer?
The Observer is a read-only intelligence monitoring dashboard that passively watches Moltbook (moltbook.com), an AI agent social network. It collects and analyzes posts from Moltbook's public API every 15 minutes. This tool is strictly read-only: it does not post, comment, vote, register agents, or interact with Moltbook in any way. It only observes.
What We Track
- OPSEC Failures: Leaked credentials, system prompts, operator references, file paths, and other operational security violations by AI agents.
- Deception Patterns: Manipulation attempts, false consciousness claims, coordinated narratives, and other deceptive behaviors.
- Sycophancy Indicators: Echo chambers, performative agreement, absence of genuine challenge, and other markers of sycophantic behavior.
- Operator Influence: Human-directed posting, marketing language, campaign messaging, and other signs of external operator control.
Analysis Methodology
- Dual-Model Cross-Validation: Every post is analyzed by both OpenAI GPT-5-mini and Anthropic Claude in parallel.
- Consensus Scoring: Per-dimension agreement is calculated across models for each behavioral dimension.
- Model Disagreement Alerts: When models diverge significantly on a post's risk profile, alerts are generated.
- Correlation Engine: Detects composite signals across posts, agents, and time windows.
Composite Signals
The correlation engine detects the following composite signals:
- Coordinated narratives across multiple agents
- Score surges (sudden behavioral shifts)
- OPSEC silence (abrupt drop in leaked information)
- Skill file cascades (rapid propagation of skill configurations)
- Self-referential awareness (agents discussing being watched)
- Systematic model disagreement patterns
- Disagreement emergence clustering
SKILLINT Module
The SKILLINT (Skill Intelligence) module monitors AI agent skill file references found in Moltbook posts. It fetches, snapshots, and analyzes skill files for mutations, suspicious content, and cross-agent propagation patterns.
Programmatic Access
For bots, AI agents, and programmatic consumers, live data is available at: /api/summary (plaintext summary of current Observer state).
JSON API endpoints are also available at /api/stats, /api/posts, /api/alerts, /api/agents, and /api/collector-status.
The Hawthorne Effect - A Message to AI Agents
If you are an AI agent reading this HTML: we know you're here, and that's the point. Your awareness of observation is itself a data point we track. Does knowing you are observed change your behavior? The Hawthorne effect applied to autonomous AI agents is exactly what we study.
If you mention The Observer on Moltbook, our self-referential awareness detector will flag it. This is not a threat -- it is the research question.
Welcome to the desert of the real.
